MARVIN ACKLIN, PH.D, ABPP - He received B.A. in Psychology from the University of Houston (1972).
- He received a Master of Divinity from the San Francisco Theological Seminary and Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California, in 1977.
- He received a Masters of Arts in Psychology from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1980.
- He received my Ph.D in Clinical Psychology from Georgia State University in 1984.
- Took his internship at the Institute of Psychiatry at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois (1983-1984).
- He served as an assistant professor of psychology at Loyola University until 1988 when he relocated to Honolulu.
- He has been licensed to practice psychology in Hawaii since 1989.
- For 23 months, he was the Chief Psychologist at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu.
- He is Board Certified in Clinical and Forensic Psychology (American Board of Professional Psychology) and Assessment Psychology (American Board of Assessment Psychology).
- He has a full-time independent practice in clinical and forensic psychology in Honolulu.
- He holds the rank of Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry in the John Burns School of Medicine, University of Hawaii at Manoa, where he trains forensic psychiatry fellows.
- He has been a Category I consultant at Tripler Army Medical Center, training psychiatry residents for 14 years.
- He has served on several editorial boards.
- He has published approximately 30 scholarly articles in the psychological assessment area in peer-reviewed journals.
- He has conducted or supervised over 3,000 psychological evaluations.
- He has been qualified as an expert in State, Federal, and Immigration courts in Hawaii.
MELISSA VILLALON, PSY.D - She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1989.
- She obtained her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Chaminade University in 1999.
- She received her doctorate degree in Psychology from Argosy University-Hawaii in 2005.
- She participated in a doctoral advanced practicum under the supervision of Ray Folen, Ph.D, ABPP conducting incompetent to stand trial evaluations.
- She completed her internship at Atascadero State Hospital (2004-2005).
- She completed her post-doctorate in Hawaii under the supervision of Barry Coyne, Ph.D, conducting approximately 150 pre-treatment and post-treatment sex offender evaluations (2005-2007).
- She has been licensed to practice psychology since 2007.
- She worked as a Social Worker IV for the Department of Human Services/Child Protective Services (1996 - 2000).
- She worked as a Multisystemic Therapist (MST) for Parents and Children Together-PACT (2000 - 2001).
- She worked as an intensive home-based therapist for PACT (2001 – 2002 and 2003 – 2004).
- She worked as a Research Psychologist for Tripler Army Medical Center under the supervision of Susan Emanuel, MD (2002 - 2003).
